The Academy's PTA By-Laws, were revised according to the Chancellors Regulations at the May 31, 2007 PTA meeting. The new By-Laws will be available at all PTA meetings and in the Parent Coordinator's office in the South building for your review.
A BIG "THANK YOU" TO THE PTA for voting to support our school sports teams and clubs! At the October 18, 2007 meeting, the General Membership voted to donate $100 to each of the seven Academy Sports Teams and to the following clubs: Improvisational Theatre Club, Model UN and Student Leadership. In December, the Literary Magazine was added to the list of recipients. These donations were made possible by the generous donations of parents to the PTA. To help contribute, please see the donation form attached to the PTA webpage.
THE NEXT PTA MEETING is scheduled for MONDAY, APRIL 14, 2008, from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m., immediately following Academy's Annual College Fair. There will be workshops about "Understanding the PSAT Scores" and "College Application Process at Academy". Recommendations from the PTA Nominating Committee for next year's Executive Board will also be available.
As shown in the latest Parent Newsletter (MAILED home 3/7/08), PTA Elections will be held on Thursday, May 29 (5-7 pm, including an International Pot Luck Supper). PLEASE JOIN US, and bring a dish to share!!!
PLEASE LOOK IN YOUR MAILBOXES FOR THIS YEAR'S LEARNING ENVIRONMENT SURVEY!!! YOU MUST MAIL THE COMPLETED SURVEY (POSTAGE PAID ENVELOPE INCLUDED IN YOUR GREEN ENVELOPE) BY APRIL 18! SURVEY PARTICIPATION IS A PORTION OF EACH SCHOOL'S PROGRESS REPORT, SO PLEASE HELP US TO GET A GOOD GRADE BY COMPLETING AND RETURNING YOUR SURVEY TODAY!!! |
